How do I use Siri and HomeKit scenes to control my HomeKit-enabled ecobee3 when in Auto Mode?

As always, you can speak with Siri or customize your scenes to set a single desired temperature. While in Auto Mode, that desired temperature value will be interpreted by ecobee as a comfort range. So for example, asking Siri to: “Set my temperature to 72F,” would set your desired setpoint to 72F with a comfort range of 5F, or a desired heat temperature of 69F and a desired cool temperature of 74F. The size of this comfort range is defined by the Heat/Cool Min Delta parameter, which by default is set to 5F (2.8C). You may change this setting at any time on your thermostat by going to: Main Menu > Settings > Installation Settings > Thresholds > Heat / Cool Min Delta. We recommend setting the largest value that meets your comfort requirements. This will also help ensure your heating and cooling equipment do not come into conflict with one another.
