My ecobee3 is online but not connected to ecobee servers, what should I do?

This occurs when your router is not providing the correct IP address to the ecobee3. Follow the steps below to resolve this.

  1. Remove your ecobee3 from the wall
  2. Unplug your wireless router, and wait 1 minute
  3. Reconnect your wireless router
  4. Put your ecobee3 back on the wall

After roughly 1 minute, it will connect to the Internet. If it has not connected after 1 minute, tap the menu icon on your thermostat, then select “Settings” and then “wi-fi.” Select “Enable” and input the wi-fi password to reconnect your ecobee3 to the wi-fi.

If your ecobee3 is still not connecting to the server, please contact ecobee support for further troubleshooting.
